Sen. calls for expansion of scope of work for Ekpemupolo’s Tantita contract
....warns against govts' interference against traditional institutions

Senator representing Bayelsa West, Senator Seriake Dickson, has called on President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to expand the scope of work for Ekpemupolo’s Tantita contract.
The former Bayelsa Governor also warned against government’s interferences in royal stools, and traditional leadership of clans and communities, saying that governors should rather extend respect to the revered institutions that have been in existence before party politics.
Dickson made the call on Friday at Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta when he led a delegation of traditional rulers, elders, political stakeholders of his constituency on visit to the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oboro-Gbaraun II, Aketepe, Agadagba.
The Senator said that expanding the scope of work would enable the Tantita boss and his team to do more in the protection of the national assets within his jurisdiction as well as the environment.
He thanked the Federal Government, NNPC for engaging Mr. Government Ekpemupolo, also Known as Tompolo, for the surveillance contract, which has further assisted in boosting national economy .
The former governor who described the Tantita boss as a man who understood the job and the terrain, commended him for doing his best to check the environmental danger associated with illegal refining of crude resources, saying it shows his rich understanding of the terrain.
He also thanked the traditional ruler and his Council of Chiefs for maintaining peace, order and stability in the kingdom, which according to him is a strategic part of the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
In a remark, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom thanked Senator Dickson and his delegation for the visit, stressing that a visit of this sort was important in building cordiality between the Ijaw people of Niger Delta.
The monarch who commended Senator Dickson for his outstanding impact in the region, described him as a true son of Ijaw nation.
He noted that the contributions of Senator Dickson and other illustrious sons of Niger Delta have continued to take the Ijaw Nation forward.
Speaking in his Ijaw dialect, the monarch prayed to God to bless and strengthen the lawmaker to enable him to continue to attract more dividends of democracy to the people of Niger Delta especially in the areas of continually moving the Ijaw nation forward.
On his part, Dr. O O Osusu, Deputy Chairman Sagbama Caucus and a member of the delegation of Senator Dickson thanked the monarch and the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom for the warm reception accorded them.
He also thanked Mr Ekpemupolo, for his contributions in fostering peace and stability in Gbaramatu Kingdom and the Niger Delta by way of Combating oil theft in the region.
