Two Bayelsan beat 35 others to qualify as golf professionals

Efforts of the Bayelsa State government in sports infrastructural development is paying off, as two young golfers from Bayelsa State, Nathan Tolomome and Friday Peter, have qualified to play the professional games in Nigeria and also compete at international events.
The two golfers who are members of the HSD Golf and Country Club, Yenagoa came tops in the national qualifying golf tournament held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
While Friday emerged overall best, Tolomome came second in the competition that had 37 participants drawn from different parts of the country.
Receiving both winners with their Coach, and Head, Resident Pro at the Golf Course of the Government House Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Dangofa Johnbull,.
Among those with the Governor to receive the new golf pros were the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Nimibofa Ayawei, the State Commissioner for Sports Development, Daniel Igali and the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Ritchie Etonye, who is also the Captain of the HSD Golf and Country Club, Yenagoa.
