Ighodalo pledges completion of Edo projects

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the September 21, governorship election in Edo, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, has pledged to complete all ongoing projects in the state, if elected governor.

Ighodalo made the promise on Saturday during the PDP ward-to-ward campaigns in Udo, Ovia South-West local government area of the state.

Ighodalo, who decried the poverty in Nigeria, also promised to provide security and support for farmers in Udo and environs.

“We want to assure you that every project that was started by Gov. Godwin Obaseki will be completed.

“You saw what the government has done at the Edo State College of Agriculture, Iguoriakhi. This Iguobazuwa Road, which is ongoing will be completed.

“I want to thank our women for their wisdom. Today, if you give a woman N100,000 to go to the market, whatever she buys today with the money, the same money will not buy half of it tomorrow.

“Yet our women are still managing the family and still putting food on our tables,” he said.

Speaking further, Ighodalo pleaded with the people to ensure they vote for the PDP.

In his remarks, the deputy governorship candidate, Mr Osarodion Ogie, thanked the people for welcoming them to Udo,

Ogie highlighted their commitment to addressing community concerns, including the completion of the Udo road and the initiation of a rice mill project.

“Many of you know us, we have never closed our doors against any of you and that is the beginning of our story.

“We know how to look after our people. When you people complained about Udo road, we promised that we will do something and we have started.

“You said you wanted a rice mill and today we have started doing something about the rice mill. So, we will tell you that we will work for you, please believe us.” he added.

The event also saw defectors from the opposition parties joining the PDP.
