Soludo’s daughter becomes the first female to be married out in the family since past 142 years
IT was moment of excitement as the first daughter to the Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, Adaora got married to Mr Arinze Ibekwe, an indigene of Odoje village, in Onitsha North local government area of the Anambra State, South Eastern region, Nigeria.
The traditional marriage was performed on Saturday at the governor’s home town in Isuofia, Aguata local government area of the State.
Soludo overjoyed, took to his facebook page, saying, “In the presence of my family, kinsmen, friends and my in-laws from Onitsha, I gave out my lovely daughter, Ifeatu Adaora Soludo to her heartthrob after all traditional rites had been met and certified in line with the customs of the Isuofia community.
“I celebrate this historic event for two reasons. First, God has graciously blessed the larger Soludo family with another such marital union after 142 years (by my estimate).
“This is largely due to the fact that female children have been a rarity in the past three generations of the Soludo family. To break that jinx God has mercifully provided me with four beautiful daughters, whom I celebrate every day”.
Soludo also wished the couple a blessed/fruitful marriage and enjoined them to respect all traditional and Christian matrimonial rites to raise happy and blissful family members that would sustain the Soludo’s legacy.
Several dignitaries from all walks of life attended the ceremony. They include the Abia State Governor, Alex Otti; Senator Andy Ubah, the House of Representatives member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency; Anambra State Speaker, Somtochukwu Udeze; Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, Hon. Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, former House of Assembly member, Hon. Pharm. Obinna Emenaka, Anambra Permanent Secretary, Hon. Dr Nwabufo Nwankwo, MD/CEO ACTDA, Hon.
