64th Independence: FG to roll out over 2,000 CNG-Powered tricycles for Nigerian youths

The Federal Ministry of Youths Development is partnering with the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas, to roll out over 2,000 CNG powered tricycles to empower youths in Nigeria October 1.
The Minister, Ayodele Olawande, reeled out other initiatives of the ministry disclosed during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday that aside from the first phase of the project, others include the PCNGI inauguration of three new CNG conversion sites in the country.
He said, “By Tuesday, October 1, we will be launching the first phase of the project that will see us distributing 2,000 tricycles in collaboration with the Presidential CNG. This will be championed by the Ministry of Youth.
“Before the end of this year, the initiative will ensure that the tricycle rider who are mostly youths will spend only 20 per cent of their present spending on PMS. It would also provide their profit and general reduction of cost of transportation to their passengers”, he assured
A statement ssued on behalf of PCNGi, Program Director/Chief Executive, Michael Oluwagbemi disclosed further that to conclude the week’s activities, the PCNGI will launch in Ekiti State, where the handover of CNG buses to the state mass transit organisation to ply the route to Abuja will take place. It will also inaugurate four new CNG conversion sites in the state.
