Some Tinubu appointees more interested in their pockets, alleges Buba Galadima

A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, on Friday said some political appointees of President Bola Tinubu are more interested in their pockets than developing the nation.

Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the elder statesman expressed disappointment at the performance of Tinubu’s administration over the past year and called for a change of mindset among appointees, saying they should put the country first.

He said, “Some of his appointees are more interested in their pockets than service delivery.

Nobody is interested in developing Nigeria, only developing his pocket. You show example as a leader.”

The elder statesman who asked the President to seek a solution to the country’s foreign exchange crisis, which has seen the naira performing abysmally, cited an example of how India developed, saying the South-Asian country channeled funds into medicine and information technology.

“It was remittances from Indians all over the world that they managed very well in India and developed IT and medical sciences and today, of the conglomerates in the world, 75 per cent of their heads are Indians.

Galadima said that while he expected much from Tinubu upon his assumption of office, the Nigerian president has not done better.

“Tinubu should be told that some of his appointees are more interested in their pockets than service delivery. I expected him to do better than this and to hit the ground running,” he added.
