Delta NUJ celebrates Dickson as he marks 59 today

Leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Delta State Council, has congratulated the Senator representing Bayelsa West senatorial district, Senator Seriake Dickson, on his birthday, today.
The Council in a statement on Monday, signed by its state chairman, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, said they wish the former Bayelsa State governor a special happy birthday, while praying for God’s continued guidance and wisdom, to enable the lawmaker continue in defence of the downtrodden, through his active voice in the Senate.
Comrade Oyowe, whose council honoured Senator Dickson with a prestigious ‘Voice of the Niger Delta’ award during its December 30, 2024 Press Week, said, Dickson remains a pride to the Niger Delta in particular, and Nigeria in general, as he continues to remain the voice of the oppressed people of the region.
The statement read thus: “We at the Delta State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, wish to heartily felicitate with a Senator we have come to see as our own, as you have continued to speak on behalf of the Niger Delta. A region so marginalized.
“We are proud of you. We are keenly following your contributions to the growth of our democracy with your quality contributions. Especially on issues affecting the whole of the Niger Delta region.”, the statement added.
It further states, “Your contributions that are deepening our democracy further shows your concern for your people in the oil ravaged region. We are with you and will continue to pray for God’s guidance and wisdom as you navigate the murky waters of politicking.
“Thanks once again for honouring us during our 2024 Press Week here in Asaba, Delta State. We remain ever grateful, sir.”.
