CBN allots N598b in Treasury Bills

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has allotted N598.33 billion in Nigerian Treasury Bills across three maturities.

The auction saw an oversubscription, with demand doubling the offer.

The 365-day bill accounted for 80 per cent of total sales, amounting to N482.62 billion.

The 81-day bill had the lowest demand and sales, with N48.4 billion in subscriptions and N38.4 billion in sales.

Total sales of Treasury bills year-to-date now stand at N7.248 trillion.

The CBN offered N550 billion across three maturities, with demand reaching N1.08 trillion.

Yields remained largely unchanged, except for a slight increase to 24.41 per cent from 24.36 per cent on the 365-day bill.

System liquidity stood at N1.21 trillion as of May 6, 2025, with maturing bills worth N287.98 billion, exceeding the N550 billion on offer.
