AMVCA 2025 celebrates African Film and Television excellence

The 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) was held in Lagos, Nigeria, celebrating excellence in African film and television.
The event, hosted by IK Osakioduwa, honoured achievements across 28 categories.
The film “Lisabi: The Uprising” was a major winner, taking home awards for Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa), Best Art Direction, and Best Makeup. However, the Best Movie category went to “Freedom Way” by Blessing Uzzi.
“Seven Doors,” a supernatural Netflix series, won several awards, including Best Lead Actor (Femi Adebayo), Best Lead Actress (Chioma Chukwuka), and Best Music Score (Tolu Obanro).
Nollywood veterans Nkem Owoh and Sani Mu’azu received Lifetime Achievement Awards, while director Kayode Kasum was honoured with the Trailblazer Award.
