NDLEA nabs woman, British national, others in drug trafficking 

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has foiled an attempt by a woman, Ihensekhien Obehi, to export large quantities of cocaine to Iran at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, Obehi was intercepted at the departure hall on May 3, 2025, while trying to board a Qatar Airline flight to Iran via Doha.
He said during a search, Obehi was found to have inserted three wraps of cocaine in her private part and hidden two large parcels in false compartments of her handbag.
Babafemi also said that Obehi had also swallowed 67 pellets of the Class A drug.
According to him, after being placed under excretion observation, she expelled the 67 wraps of cocaine from her stomach.
”The total weight of the cocaine concealed in different parts of her body was 2.523 kilograms.
”Obehi claimed she was supposed to swallow 70 pellets but couldn’t ingest the remaining three, so she inserted them into her private part, ” he added.
In a related operation, NDLEA operatives at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos intercepted a 22-year-old British national, Campell Kaizra Kofi Johannes Slifer, with 37.60kg of cannabis.
 In Niger State, NDLEA officers seized 3,047 kilograms of cannabis from a fuel truck and three other vehicles, arresting four suspects.
The suspects arrested in Niger State include Christopher Onyema, Benedict Etineruba Young, Chukwudi Ujue Jerry, and Mohammed Abdullahi Danasabe.
The vehicles recovered from the suspects include a fuel truck, a Honda Odyssey bus, and a Gulf bus.
