SEC launches survey to evaluate tech integration in Nigeria’s capital market

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched a technology adoption assessment survey for registered capital market operators in Nigeria.
The initiative is aimed at evaluating the extent to which advanced technologies are being adopted by capital market operators across the country.
“The technology adoption survey has been developed to assess the level of integration of advanced technologies among registered Capital Market Operators,” the SEC stated in a notice issued on Wednesday.
The regulator instructed all registered operators to complete the survey by logging into its e-portal using their existing credentials.
The survey will remain open for a two-week period, from May 5 to May 20, 2025.
Operators with questions or concerns can contact the Commission via email at innovation@sec.gov.ng.
The SEC’s technology adoption survey is part of its efforts to enhance innovation and deepen Nigeria’s capital market.
The regulator has been taking steps to crack down on capital market operators that are deemed illegal or non-compliant.
In March, the SEC suspended an operator, along with its directors and sponsored individuals, from the capital market.
The regulator also revoked the registration of another capital market operator, citing regulatory non-compliance and outstanding complaints against the company.
