APC’s Izeze declines 2027 aspirations, focuses on party success

Delta Commissioner for Works (Highways and UrbanRoads) Reuben Izeze, has declined to contest any political position in 2027.
Instead, he has thrown his support behind President Bola Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released on Monday, Izeze declared, “I am not contesting any elections in 2027.
”I am simply doing my bit to gather as much support and votes as possible for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, President Bola  Tinubu, and all candidates of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
Izeze expressed appreciation for the confidence his supporters have shown in him, but emphasized that his current priority is to contribute to the party’s overall success in the upcoming elections.
“I appreciate the trust and confidence of my supporters urging me to contest, but now is not the time.
”My focus remains on strengthening the party and ensuring our candidates win across the board,” he added.
Izeze stressed the importance of unity within the APC, especially at a critical juncture in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
He urged party members and stakeholders to close ranks and work together in support of the current administration’s developmental agenda.
“As a party, we must stay focused and united. The task before us is to consolidate on the achievements of our leaders and deliver more dividends of democracy to our people. That’s where my energy and loyalty are directed,” he said.
The former lawmaker continues to serve as a pillar of academic encouragement and financial support for students from Ughievwen and Ughelli South through his bursary initiative, which enters its second year with over 500 beneficiaries.
Izeze’s decision not to join the 2027 race is seen by political observers as a move that could further strengthen internal cohesion within the APC in Delta State, where efforts are ongoing to boost the party’s grassroots mobilization ahead of the elections.
