Lawyer and client murdered by gunmen in Anambra 

Gunmen have killed two people in Anambra State’s Orumba North Local Government Area.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers, who were riding a motorcycle, ambushed the victims while they were driving in a red Toyota Camry in Egbebelu village, Nanka.
The gunmen opened fire on the victims, killing one instantly. The victims were reportedly a lawyer and his client, who were returning from a court hearing.
The lawyer had secured bail for the client in a pending murder case at High Court II in Ekwulobia.
The Anambra State police confirmed the attack and the victims’ deaths. The police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, visited the crime scene with senior officers.
Ikenga said, “Preliminary investigations suggest that the victims were attacked while returning from the court session, having been trailed and double-crossed by the assailants.
“One person survived the attack and is receiving medical treatment. The survivor provided crucial information to the police, aiding their investigation.
”The police recovered the victims’ vehicle, a red Toyota Camry, from the scene.
”The Commissioner of Police has ordered an intensive investigation and deployed teams to track down the perpetrators.”
