Over 60 FCT schools renovated and furnished – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has announced that the FCT Administration has renovated and furnished over 60 public schools across the territory.
Wike disclosed this during an inspection of ongoing projects in Gwagwalada and Kwali Area Councils on Friday.
According to Wike, the FCT Administration has invested significantly in improving critical infrastructure in the health and education sectors.
“We have done a lot of work in schools. The schools we have renovated and furnished are more than 60 so far,” he said.
Wike emphasised that every sector would receive attention, and none would be left behind. “I can tell you that no sector would be left abandoned, every sector will be focused on,” he added.
The minister highlighted the importance of good road networks in driving development.
“Good road network is what brings development. When there are no roads, which school will you go to? When there are no roads, which hospital will you go to?” he asked.
Wike also noted that good road networks positively impact agriculture and security.
“If you’re talking about agriculture, how will you go and harvest your produce when there is no road?” he asked, adding that farming communities would benefit from improved road networks.
Wike further stated that good road networks also reduce insecurity.
“When people commit offences and there is no road to chase them, it would become a problem. But when you see this kind of road with streetlights, you will have to think twice before you commit any offence,” he said.
