DESOPADEC committed to impactful development in Ndokwa – Dr Olisa

Dr Charles Olisa, member representing Ndokwa ethnic nationality on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), , has reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to impactful and sustainable development initiatives across Ndokwa Nation.
Olisa stated this during an inspection of two key DESOPADEC projects on Monday at Ossissa in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of the State.
The two projects are: the ongoing resurfacing of the Umuosumili Ossissa Road to Umueze Ossissa Road, and the construction of a new National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lodge at Akarai Obodo.
Olisa expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work being executed in strict compliance with the Bills of Engineering Measurements and Evaluation (BEME).
He assured the people of the Ossissa community that the project would be completed on schedule and constructed to sustainable standards.
“This project reflects DESOPADEC’s firm alignment with the Delta Government’s ‘MORR Agenda’ and the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Initiative.
“Our goal is to roll out meaningful and sustainable projects across all mandate areas of Ndokwa Nation that will improve the lives of our people, ” he said.
The community leaders, including the Okpalaukwu of Umuosumili Ossissa, Michael Olisa,
commended the intervention, describing the project as timely and beneficial to the economic and social development of the area.
Also, the Youth President of the community, Mr Sunday Nwacheli, also expressed his appreciation to the chairman and members of the DESOPADEC Board for their commitment to the development of the oil-bearing communities.
Olisa also inspected the NYSC Lodge under construction at Akarai Obodo, where he praised the contractor’s diligence and described the lodge as a strategic investment in youth development and public infrastructure.
“This lodge is a testament to our vision of building capacity and creating conducive environments for national service members in rural communities,” he said.
Olisa reiterated the board’s commitment in implementing people-oriented projects that support infrastructure development, promote youth empowerment, and uplift the standard of living in oil-producing communities.
