Tinubu’s administration not a failure – APC

President Bola Tinubu has said that the economic reforms of his administration are yielding the desired results.
Tinubu speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu said the ruling party was not a failure.
“Two years ago, we embarked on this journey, propelled by a bus of hope and abiding faith in Nigeria.
”Together, we pledged to confront Nigeria’s challenges head-on by rebuilding the trust, fostering prosperity.
“Today, I am proud to affirm that our economic reforms are working. There’s nothing good that comes easily. The subsidy is gone and was gone for the good of this country, ” he said.
After coming to office in May 2023,
Tinubu’s administration embarked on a deep economic reform programme, including liberalising the naira currency and cutting fuel subsidies.
While the government and international financial institutions said these measures were necessary, many ordinary Nigerians are facing a cost-of-living crisis.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently noted that the government’s tough economic reforms have yet to benefit the average citizen.
Successive years of rising inflation and sluggish growth have raised poverty and hardship levels, with nearly half of all Nigerians living in poverty in 2024.
During the summit, the APC endorsed Tinubu as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje announced this at the event.
“As the chairman of the party and on behalf of the National Working Committee, the only recognised platform, I believe, legally, to field a candidate in any election.
”I hereby affirm the various endorsements and declare President Bola Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of the APC,” Ganduje said.
