Wike blasts Makinde, Mbah, pulls out of PDP reconciliation agreements

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has pulled out of all reconciliation agreements within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to what he described as betrayal, dishonesty, and serial violations of mutual understandings by key party leaders.
Wike in a statement he personally signed,  accused Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, of sabotaging reconciliation efforts and being the “architect of our problems.”
He said, “I made it clear to the Governor of Oyo State, HE, Seyi Makinde, that he was the architect of our problems, pointing out to him that non-adherence to agreements reached was the bane of the party, and that he was the chief culprit of this anomaly.”
Wike cited several instances of violations of agreements reached within the party, including the summoning of a meeting of South-East leaders to recommend the adoption of Ude Okoye as Secretary, which was contrary to the agreement that Senator Samuel Anyanwu would remain the National Secretary.
He also mentioned the attempt to give credence to the Deputy National Secretary acting as National Secretary, despite the agreement to the contrary.
Wike accused Makinde and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah of betrayal and dishonesty, stating that they had violated the agreements reached and were working against the party’s interests.
He said, “All these actions are in complete violation of the agreements reached and would not do the party any good whatsoever.”
”Given the violations and betrayal, Wike decided to pull out of all agreements hitherto reached, stating, “I have now firmly decided to pull out of all agreements hitherto reached.
”I have decided to fight on until justice is attained.”
In his statement, Wike detailed the efforts made to reconcile the party’s differences, including meetings held in Lagos and Abuja.
He expressed disappointment that despite these efforts, the agreements reached were not adhered to, leading to the current crisis within the party.
Wike emphasised his commitment to the party, having worked tirelessly for its survival since 1998, but felt compelled to take a stand against the betrayal and dishonesty he perceived.
