Isoko people demand creation of Isoko-Ame LGA

An open letter has been written to the distinguished Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District and the House of Representative member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, appealing for the creation of a new local government area to be known as Isoko-Ame Local Government Area.
The request is contained in a letter signed by Prince Olomu Matthew,
President, Isoko Youth Assembly Worldwide.
According to the letter, the proposed local government is to be carved out of the existing Ndokwa East Local Government Area of the State.
”This proposed local government, to be carved out of the existing Ndokwa East LGA, will serve as a rightful recognition of the long-standing presence and contributions of the Isoko people in this region.
“The creation of Isoko-Ame LGA will not only strengthen grassroots development but also bring governance closer to the people.
”It will foster peace, create opportunities, and enhance the socio-economic welfare of our people, ” the letter stated.
It also added, “If you can lead this charge, if you can sponsor and fight for the creation of Isoko-Ame Local Government Area, the Isoko people, both home and abroad, will never forget your names.”
The letter noted that the creation of Isoko-Ame Local Government Area is seen as a call for justice, equity, and recognition.
”It is believed that this will bring about effective governance and development to the Isoko people in the region.
The letter highlighted Isoko communities in Ndokwa East that would be part of the proposed Isoko-Ame Local Government Area that existing in Ndokwa East Local Government Areas to include; Igbuku, Asa, Awa, Ibrede, Onogbokor, Ayama, Iyade Ame, Lagos Iyade.
Others are; Worri-rri, Utuoku, Umuti, Osafo, Ogige, Egbeme, Osobia/Owobia, Ewo-Okrafo, Iyowo
– Adiawa, Ushie, Igeh,  Akara-Etiti, Ewo-Okpe, Okporo, Obere, Ewo-Eboy, Utue, Itebiege, Ugute
