Tinubu’s achievements in 2 years superseded other administrations – Minister

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying that its achievements in two years have relatively superseded other administrations.
Idris made the assertion during his address at the 2025 Voice of Nigeria’s (VON) Forum on Tuesday in Abuja.
”No government has achieved what the Tinubu administration has achieved in the last two years.
“The courage of the Tinubu administration to remove the fuel subsidy, the forex racket and then the massive investment in rural infrastructure is commendable.”
The event was themed “Renewed Hope Agenda: Citizen Engagement and National Security.”
Idris noted that the government has commenced the celebration of the second anniversary of President Tinubu’s administration, with ample proof of its positive impact, creating room for prosperity and progress.
He said, “In fact, no government has achieved what the Tinubu administration has achieved in the last two years.”
Some of the key achievements highlighted by Idris include: removing fuel subsidy and forex racket, massive investment in rural infrastructure, commissioning of the first 30 Kilometer Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Highway traversing across 17 states.
Also, the 73 dams along the corridor for power generation and agriculture, unprecedented student loan scheme and consumer credit corporation, Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (PiCNG) and tax reform bill.
Idris acknowledged that the starting point of Tinubu’s administration was rough and challenging, but noted that the country was now looking bright, with prices of food dropping.
He attributed this progress to Tinubu’s leadership and policies such as local government autonomy and the establishment of Ministries of Regional Development and Live Stocks Development.
Idris highlighted the potential of the livestock sector, citing a study that showed Nigeria could earn N33 trillion if the sector is fully optimised.
He also noted improvements in security, saying that people could now travel to Kaduna with peace of mind.
He praised the security agencies for their efforts and urged the media to report their activities with patriotism.
”We need to appreciate the security agencies for the work they are doing. They pay the supreme price every day, ” he said.
Idris called on the Nigerian media to deny unpatriotic elements the space to operate, saying, “The Nigerian media must deny unpatriotic elements the space to operate so that our gallant military officers and other security agencies can fight them so that all of us can have a better future for our country.”
