Sanwo-Olu: Tinubu is my father and leader, no rift

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, has denied rumors of a rift with President Bola Tinubu, describing their relationship as a “father-and-son affair.”
The governor made the statement after meeting with the President at his Bourdillon residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu met with President Tinubu alongside the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision-making body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos.
The governor dismissed rumors of a perceived rift between him and the President, saying there is nothing to the claims.
Sanwo-Olu described his relationship with Tinubu as a “father-and-son affair,” emphasising that they clear up any issues that arise.
“There is none. There are people Catholic than the Pope; they cry more than the bereaved,” he said.
“Father and son (affairs) are things that we always ensure that we clear. There is nothing at all.
“He is my father and my leader, and we are grateful that he has given us the audience to say hello to him today,” he added.
The meeting and Sanwo-Olu’s statement aim to clarify the relationship between the governor and the President, putting rumors to rest.
The gathering, which included other powerbrokers in Lagos politics, showcases unity and cooperation among key stakeholders.
The meeting was attended by notable figures, including Sanwo-Olu’s deputy, Obafemi Hamzat; Mudashiru Obasa; and Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
