Inter Milan appoints Cristian Chivu as new head coach

Inter Milan has appointed Cristian Chivu as the new head coach of the club, replacing Simone Inzaghi. Chivu, a former Romania defender, has signed a contract with Inter until June 30, 2027.
Chivu recently guided Parma to Serie A safety and has now taken charge of Inter, one of Europe’s biggest clubs, just months after starting his senior coaching career.
Chivu’s contract with Inter is worth 2.5 million euros ($2.85 million) per season, and he will lead the team in the upcoming Club World Cup.
Chivu’s first match in charge will be against Monterrey in the Club World Cup next week.
Chivu won three Serie A titles and the 2010 Champions League with Inter as a player.
Chivu began his senior coaching career with Parma in February, replacing Fabio Pecchia and guiding the team to safety in Serie A.
Chivu will face the challenge of reviving a team that was thrashed 5-0 by PSG in the Champions League final.
Inter will participate in the Club World Cup, competing against teams like Monterrey and Al Hilal, who are also participating in the tournament
