Ezeokenwa certain of APGA’s victory in governorship election

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sly Ezeokenwa, has expressed confidence that his party is the team to beat in the November 2025 governorship election in Anambra.
Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Wednesday ,Ezeokenwa attributed the party’s popularity to the current APGA-led administration’s performance, which he believed has exceeded expectations.
Ezeokenwa claimed that Anambra residents were happy with the performance of the current administration, citing significant progress in the state in the last three years.
“Anambra people can say, ‘We’ve never had it this good in just three years by any elected officials in the past.’ That is the consensus opinion on the streets of Anambra. And in that context, I can tell you, well, there is no contest really,” Ezeokenwa said.
He emphasised that APGA’s legacy since 2006 has remained unbroken, with the current administration delivering on development promises and deepening the party’s ideology of “leaving no one behind.”
Ezeokenwa believed that APGA enjoys overwhelming support in Anambra, with the party’s candidate, Chukwuma Soludo, being the popular choice.
“On the streets of Anambra, the general opinion is clear, and that is that the state is still very much with APGA.
”They have not seen any reason to change the trajectory of development that they have witnessed from 2006 to date,” he said on the breakfast show.
He suggested that APGA’s strong performance and ideology might lead to a consensus candidate, with voters across Anambra rallying behind the party.
With the November polls approaching, APGA is confident of retaining the governorship seat in Anambra, according to Ezeokenwa.
The party is expected to begin official campaigns soon, and Ezeokenwa’s comments reflect APGA’s optimism about its chances in the election.
