Anambra 2025: Labour Party’s Moghalu unveils running mate, calls for party unity

The Labour Party’s governorship candidate, George Moghalu, has unveiled Ifeoma Okaro as his running mate for the November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election.
The unveiling took place during a meeting with local government officials, ward chairmen, and secretaries of the party on Friday in Awka.
Moghalu emphasised the need for party unity, urging members to work together towards success in the election.
He encouraged chairmen and secretaries to market the party to their people, assuring that the party has made commitments and will not fail its supporters.
Moghalu highlighted his commitment to accountability, stating that the confidence reposed in him would not be betrayed.
The gubernatorial hopeful noted that Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the party, was fully behind them and would soon publicly identify with their campaign.
The unveiled deputy governorship candidate, Ifeoma Okaro, urged fellow women to unite behind the flag bearer and herself, emphasising that Moghalu has demonstrated gender and religious sensitivity.
She encouraged women to rally behind the Labour Party, noting that they were the real voters and that it was time to rally support for the party completely.
