Delta North APC stakeholders pledge unity, back Anioma state creation

The APC leaders and stakeholders in Delta North Senatorial District have met at Idumuje Ugboko, the country home of the Senator representing the district at the Senate, Prince Ned Nwoko with a resolve to work for stronger unity of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The stakeholders comprising APC chieftains, leaders, elders, youths, members and supporters of the party in the senatorial district reaffirmed commitment towards the realisation of the creation of Anioma State from the present Delta State.
This was sequel to the adoption of a motion moved by a former member of the House of Representatives, representing Ndokwa Ukwuani federal constituency, Nicholas Ossai and seconded by Chief Felix Ndukwe of Oshimili North local government area.
The forum resolved that a leadership council should be established, to be headed by Senator Ned Nwoko, and co- chaired by the APC Delta North Senatorial District Chairman to ensure that all critical leaders and stakeholders of the party in the district were carried along in the affairs of the party within the senatorial district.
”And that the following persons should be automatic members of the leadership council, (I)All former and present members of the National Assembly, (ii) All former speakers of the State House of Assembly,(iii) All present members of the State and National Working Committees of the party
”(iv) All local government party chairmen in the senatorial district plus 10 members from each of the nine local government areas that make up the Delta North Senatorial District, ” the forum said.
”The forum also passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Tinubu, because he is doing well.
”A vote of confidence given to Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori. If you drive through the dualized Ughelli– Asaba road, it’s like a speed lane”
”Also,a vote of confidence in favour of the distinguished Senator, representing Delta North, Prince Ned Nwoko ”
Earlier, in his address of welcome, Senator Nwoko, announced the award of a four- year full scholarship to 10 students in each of the nine local government areas of Delta North which make up the Anioma axis of the state at his private Sports University, Idumuje Ugboko .
On the creation of the Anioma State, Senator Nwoko said, ” We are on course. The technical committee will be inaugurated in Asaba, to help me to work towards actualizing the creation of Anioma State”

”We have taken all the steps in the Senate. As at today, 75 senators are supporting Anioma State creation ”
”We have moved from the committee stage of the process to public hearing coming up in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Thereafter, we will come back to the Senate for third reading of the bill for the creation of Anioma State.
”By next month, I will commence a visitation tour of all the nine local government areas in Delta North to showcase my development achievements for the past two years especially in areas of roads construction in the senatorial district, many motions and bills in the Red Chamber”
“My priority still remains the completion of Ogwashi-Ukwu multi purpose dam, and the national grid step down at Okpai for light. I know that when we have light and water, everybody will be happy, ”Nwoko said.
Former Speaker of Delta House of Assembly, Victor Ochei called for reconciliation of aggrieved members of the party for stronger unity ahead of 2027 general elections.
“We are not having a party to divide us . We are having a party to unify and unite everybody. We must unite the party, particularly in Delta North”, stated Ochei.
A chieftain of the party, Chief Emma Ejiofor solicited the support of all stakeholders in the creation of Anioma State, saying that any member of the State House of Assembly from the senatorial district that refuses to support the creation of Anioma State, would be recalled by the electorate in their constituencies.
For Nicholas Ossai, former member of the House of Representatives, ” Anioma State creation is a reality, and we must support Senator Ned Nwoko to achieve this feat because when we have our state, we will have more local government areas created, and many other benefits in the new state. Anioma State should be supported by everybody ”
Also, Chairman of APC Delta North Senatorial District, Chief Eluaka Adizue urged those who recently joined the party to register at their various wards along with the ongoing online membership registration.
Others who spoke at the event included the member representing Aniocha –Oshimili Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber , Ngozi Okolie and the Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Chamberlain Dukwu, reaffirming the solidarity of members in their constituencies to the unity of the party.
