Sowore questions legitimacy of Atiku’s coalition

Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has expressed skepticism about the coalition led by Atiku Abubakar.
According to Sowore, most members of the coalition, including former governors Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi, may return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) if things don’t work out in the 2027 election.
The activist spoke on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds programme on Sunday.
Sowore doubted the loyalty of coalition members, suggesting they may not be committed to the cause.
He implied that some members may be opportunistic, joining the coalition for personal gain rather than a shared vision.
Sowore’s comments raised questions about the stability and viability of Atiku’s coalition ahead of the 2027 election.
If Sowore’s assessment is accurate, it could impact the coalition’s chances of success.
