Gov. Eno dismisses rift rumors with predecessor

Akwa Ibom Sta Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ubom, has denied reports of a rift between him and his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel.
Speaking at the 55th Anniversary celebration of Believers Assembly Evangelical Church of Nigeria in Uyo, on Sunday, Eno described such rumors as baseless and misleading.
Governor Eno said that his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has not strained his relationship with Emmanuel, whom he referred to as his “political father”.
“For those of you who think that because I’ve changed party, I now have issues with my political father, you got it wrong,” the Governor declared.
“I have no problem with Deacon Udom Emmanuel. He remains my political father. Just last week, I was in his house in Lagos and we had a great time together.”
He revealed that he recently visited Emmanuel at his Lagos residence and had a great time together.
Governor Eno urged Akwa Ibom people to disregard false narratives aimed at creating disunity and to maintain peace and unity in the state.
“Our young people must understand that leadership is not easy. Let’s maintain the peace in our state and continue to drive the progress we are witnessing in the state.
”This is the only state we have, and we must not allow outsiders to destroy it. We must protect it at all costs, ” he said.
He stressed the importance of peace in driving progress in the state and protecting it from external threats.
Eno lauded Prelate Isaiah Isong, founder of Believers Assembly Evangelical Church, for his unwavering support and prayers for the state.
He appreciated the spiritual contributions of clerics to the peace and stability of the state, especially during the 2023 elections.
The Founder of Victory Life Bible Church, Apostle Lawrence Achudeme, urged Christians to focus on personal and spiritual growth, avoid meddling in others’ affairs, and not pull others down.
