Former Ghana finance minister Ofori-Atta declared wanted 

Ghana’s former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has been declared wanted by Interpol on June 6, 2025, after Ghana’s Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) issued a Red Notice request.
Ofori-Atta is accused of using his public office for personal profit, specifically in relation to the construction of a national cathedral, where $58 million of government funds was allegedly spent, but the project remains incomplete.

The suspect, according to Nigerian Standard sources,  is allegedly involved in several corruption cases when in government
“We are investigating Ofori-Atta over procurement procedures in the building of a controversial national cathedral, which remains a hole in the ground despite the alleged spending of $58m (£46.6m) of government money,” said Ghanaian prosecutor.
Ofori-Atta is believed to be in the United States for medical treatment and has not publicly responded to the allegations.
His lawyers, Frank Davies have claimed that he was unlawfully treated and requested the removal of his name from the wanted list, submitting medical records in good faith.
“Our stand is Ofori-Atta is outside of the country for medical reasons. We are not commenting on the allegations.

However, the OSP insisted on his physical presence for questioning.
The OSP, led by Kissi Agyebeng, has stated that Ofori-Atta’s physical presence was necessary for the investigation, adding that they would not accept written statements or representation by lawyers in lieu of his testimony.
The Ghanaian government has launched “Operation Recover All Loot” to investigate corruption cases, including those involving Ofori-Atta.
