EFCC nabs 26 suspected internet fraudsters in Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 26 suspected internet fraudsters in separate operations in Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Abuja.
EFCC Spokesperson, Dele Oyewale said this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
In Akwa Ibom, 19 suspects were arrested, with 13 apprehended in Calabar and six in Idoro, Akwa Ibom.
Oyewale, said the arrests were made following actionable intelligence linking the suspects to alleged internet-related fraud.
He also said items recovered from the suspects in Cross River and Akwa Ibom include three exotic cars, 31 mobile phones, and five laptops.
Oyewale assured that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
In a similar operation in Abuja, the EFCC arrested seven suspected internet fraudsters in the Lifecamp and Kubwa areas of the Federal Capital Territory.
The suspects were linked to fraudulent internet activities through credible intelligence.
The EFCC recovered eight high-end automobiles, expensive laptop computers, and mobile phones from the suspects in Abuja.
The suspects would also face prosecution once investigations are concluded.
