Senate President Godswill Akpabio predicts that more states currently governed by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming months.
Akpabio made this statement during the official welcome of Governor Umo Eno to the APC at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Saturday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
Akpabio specifically mentioned Rivers and Bayelsa states as potential examples, suggesting that they may follow suit after Governor Eno’s defection.
“Governor Uno Eno, after you, who knows? Rivers state will tumble. After Rivers, Bayelsa will join,” Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom, said at the event, ” be said.
Akpabio’s comments implied that he expects a shift in political allegiance among PDP-governed states in favor of the APC.
