Iran launches missile attack on U.S. bases in Qatar and Iraq

Iran launched a missile attack on U.S. military bases in Qatar and Iraq on Monday evening, June 23, 2025, as a response to recent American strikes on its key nuclear sites.
The operation, dubbed “Blessing of Victory,” targeted the Al-Udeid base in Qatar, the largest US military facility in the Middle East.
Iran’s National Security Council confirmed the attack, stating that the number of missiles used was equivalent to the number of bombs used by the U.S. in its recent strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
Qatar’s Ministry of Defense announced that its air defenses successfully intercepted the missile attack, with no reported deaths or injuries.
The U.S. base was evacuated as a precautionary measure ahead of the attack.
Iran’s National Security Council emphasised that the attack did not pose any threat to Qatar, describing it as a “friendly and brotherly country.”
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Majed Al-Ansari, said that the country reserved the right to respond directly to the “blatant aggression” in a manner proportional to the nature and scale of the attack.
