NNPCL expands clean energy access with new CNG stations

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) is expanding access to clean energy across Nigeria by launching additional Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations in Abuja, Ibadan, and Abeokuta.
“We are expanding clean energy access, one city at a time. We are now live in Abeokuta, Abuja, and Ibadan. With every new site, we bring Nigerians closer to cleaner, more affordable energy for everyday mobility,” the firm said in an alert post shared on its X platform.
This initiative aimed to promote the adoption of CNG as a cleaner and more affordable alternative to traditional fuels like petrol.
NNPCL has brought its CNG services to Abeokuta, Abuja, and Ibadan, making cleaner energy more accessible to Nigerians.
The company has established CNG stations in various locations, including Lagos and Abuja, with a focus on promoting the use of CNG for everyday mobility.
The CNG stations in Lagos and Abuja can dispense over six million standard cubic feet of CNG daily, serving approximately 15,000 vehicles.
Six new mobile CNG refueling stations were recently launched in Lagos, further expanding NNPCL’s CNG network.
The expansion of CNG stations will help reduce Nigeria’s reliance on traditional fuels and promote a cleaner environment.
CNG is positioned as a more affordable alternative to petrol, which could lead to cost savings for vehicle owners.
The additional CNG stations will make it easier for Nigerians to access clean energy for their vehicles.
