Senate committee warns NNPCL: respond to queries or face consequences

The Senate Committee on Public Accounts has given the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) Group Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Ojulari, 10 days to respond to 11 critical financial queries.
The committee, led by Senator Aliyu Wadada, is investigating discrepancies in NNPCL’s audited financial statements.
The committee rejected NNPCL’s request for a two-month extension, warning that failure to comply could attract constitutional consequences.
Wadada emphasised that the Senate would invoke its oversight powers if NNPCL fails to respond.
The committee emphasised the need for transparency and accountability in NNPCL’s financial dealings.
