2 Nigerian young graduates develop new educational App

Two Nigerian young graduates, Jammy Guanah, and Dobra Guanah, who are cousins have developed new educational App: ”Scholara”.
Jammy and Dobra are graduates of Nautical Science, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool, UK and Business Management & Leadership, from Graduate Coventry University, Coventry, UK, hailed from Patani Local Government Area of Delta, Nigeria.
The duo speaking with Hensard News said that the App helped students study.
On the benefits of the App to students, lecturers, education sector, the youngsters said
using Scholara would help students learn/study effectively.
”In summary this app will be a good addition to any student’s daily routine.
”It will give them an academic edge over non users and expose them to first class learning experience that is only accessible to students in first world countries and top private schools in the nation.
”This App is specially needed since most schools lack a guidance and counselor personnel to guide students, ” they said.
The duo highlighting some of features of the App, said, It could help student generate quizzes from their course material, flash cards, personal tutoring and more.

”Scholara function as an AI powered app for students. It has multiple tools that students can use to learn, study and prepare for examinations.
”Some feature of the App includes:1 Scholara Tutor: this feature helps to explains any topic/concept in detail, with constant follow ups to ensure the student understands the concept thought.
”The Math Evaluator: this feature helps to evaluates maths problems and provides step by step solutions.
”The ChatDoc: this is another feature which enables students to have a conversation with their study material, ask questions and receive insights on what they are learning.
”The Flashcards feature helps students to turn their course material into Flashcards, which enables faster recall when studying.
”The Quiz Tool feature also allows the students to turn their course material into personalised quizzes which can be used to prepare for exams and test their understanding.
”The Multiple Explanations tool helps to provides alternative explanations to a given topic. With this feature, students will be able to get multiple explanations to ensure they understand any given concept properly.
”The Keypoint Generator feature allows students to extract key insight and summary from your their course material, while the Career Advisor guides students into picking the right career path.”

The youngsters said that they developed the App in 2024 and officially launched it on April 2, 2025.
They also said prior to the official launched of the App, they were able to send it platforms for testing, and they got quite number of feedbacks within the shortest possible time.

On what prompted the development, Hammy said, ”we were having a discussion one day about the various problems in the education sector especially as it relates to learning; then the conversation shifted to what we can actually do to improve it.
”We’ve both been keeping up with the latest advancements in AI so we knew what was possible to build; we did some brainstorming, some research and thus Sholara was born.
”Before that we have already built a product (Digital Prof) for university lecturers that helps to automate some of the repetitive and time draining tasks.
”This product got a lot of positive feedback with over 120 lecturers using the platform.”
In addition, ”I have worked as a tutor at a secondary school and directly interacted with students and fellow teachers.
”I personally know some challenges that is faced when it comes to learning especially when teaching a new topic/material.
”It is something that has always bothered me because I studied in the UK and experienced a different learning experience there.
”So I am also familiar with the challenges in the education sector.”
For Dobra, ”My Dad is a professor and has been in the education space for years; I assist him with grading & preparation of course materials among other tasks.
”I also discuss with him regularly about his teaching process, interaction with students and the learning process in general.
”This gave me a unique insight into some imperfections in the system and some possible ways to solve them.”
