APC governors welcome Ganduje’s resignation, pledge support for Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, under the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), have welcomed the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, describing it as part of the party’s “continued evolution”.
This resolution was made during the PGF’s two-day strategic regional meeting in Benin City, hosted by Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, Fred Itua, on Saturday, said the PGF reaffirmed its strong belief in a united, just, and prosperous Nigeria, committing to work collaboratively to deliver bold reforms, strengthen institutional trust, and accelerate socio-economic development across all geopolitical zones.
Ganduje stepped down as National Chairman, effective immediately, citing urgent personal matters. Ali Dalori has taken over as Acting National Chairman.
The governors reaffirmed their commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and encouraged Nigerians to support the President and the APC.
The governors expressed satisfaction with the government’s economic reforms, including fiscal reform, food security, energy transition, and infrastructural modernization.
The governors commended security agencies for their efforts and pledged support for inter-agency coordination, community policing, and grassroots intelligence systems.
Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State formally joined the APC, reflecting a growing national consensus on President Tinubu’s transformative policies.
The governors observed a minute of silence in honor of Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a renowned businessman and philanthropist who passed away recently. Dantata was laid to rest in Madina, Saudi Arabia, fulfilling his long-held wish to be buried beside his late wife.
