Bode George criticises Atiku, others over ADC coalition

A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has criticised some of the party’s chieftains who have joined the opposition coalition on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Chief George specifically targeted former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ADC Chairman David Mark, warning that they cannot serve two masters by being members of both the PDP and the ADC coalition.
According to George, “The ADC coalition lacks strategy and concept, and its formation is a result of existential imbecility on the part of its members.
“You can’t serve two masters, as stated in the Holy Book. You either serve A or you serve B.
”But to say you are in A and B is a fallacy,” George said on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme on Friday”, he added.
He also queried the motives of PDP members who were leaving the party, saying that they should instead work to resolve the party’s internal crises rather than abandoning it.
George also accused some members of the ADC coalition, including Atiku and David Mark, of being instrumental in the crisis that rocked the PDP.
He recalled that at the party’s last convention, Atiku’s ambition to run for president was opposed by some members, leading to a rift within the party.
The ADC coalition, which includes prominent politicians such as Peter Obi, Rauf Aregbesola, Nasir El-Rufai, and Rotimi Amaechi, aims to unseat President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 election.
George’s comments suggest that the coalition may face challenges in achieving its goal.
