TCN warns Kaduna residents against building under transmission lines

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has cautioned residents and host communities in Kaduna State against encroaching on its right-of-way or building under transmission lines.
TCN also warned against vandalising power infrastructure, emphasising that such actions pose significant risks to lives and undermine efforts to ensure a stable electricity supply nationwide.
At a sensitization forum in Kaduna, TCN engaged traditional rulers, security officials, youth leaders, and other stakeholders on the dangers of erecting structures under high-voltage transmission lines and the threat of infrastructure vandalism.
The awareness drive aligned with directives from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and is part of TCN’s community engagement strategy to protect national power assets.
The company is executing major power expansion projects in Kaduna State, including new transformer installations and transmission facility upgrades.
Residents and host communities were urged to respect TCN’s right-of-way and avoid building under transmission lines.
By working together, TCN aimed to deliver improved and uninterrupted power supply to the people of Kaduna State.
