2027 Election: High stakes for Nigerians, says Najatu Muhammad

A social critic and human rights activist, Najatu Muhammad, is urging Nigerians to consider the potential consequences of the 2027 presidential election, particularly if President Bola Tinubu seeks re-election.
Muhammad questioned the existence of an alternative leaders who could effectively challenge Tinubu, given his current power and influence
Mohammed doubted that any individual, including those often referred to as “saints,” can defeat Tinubu in 2027 due to his incumbency advantage and control over institutions.
His words, ”An alternative that has the capacity to resist the disruptive machinations of the current administration. An alternative that has the muscle to rally Nigerians across demographics and across geopolitical realities.
”Politics is a game of interest, institutions, and power. Tinubu has the interest, has the institutions, and has the power.
”I wish there’s an alternative in a “saint” from amongst our youth that has the capacity and ability to defeat Tinibu, ” he said.
He added, ”An alternative that has what it take to defeat a Tinubu that is the President. A President that is willing to snatch, grab, and run with the destiny of over 200 million Nigerians.
”Look! No Nigerian saint or unknown individual can defeat Tinubu in 2027. Lets call a spade a spade. The risk is too high. We cant take chances.
”I must remind all Nigerians that this is just year two of this unprecedented hardship.
”Halftime of the first four years and Nigerians are dying of hunger, insecurity, and cardiac arrest due to hardship induced depression. Imagine what 8 years will be like for you and for your wives/husbands and children.”
Muhammad emphasised that the consequences of the 2027 election would be far-reaching, potentially affecting Nigerians’ lives for generations to come.
He portrayed Tinubu as a determined leader who would stop at nothing to maintain power, unlike former President Goodluck Jonathan, who conceded defeat to Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
”At this point I dont need to say more than this. I will only remind you that Tinubu is not Jonathan. If you think there is any saint that has the capacity or clout to make Tinubu call him/her to congratulate and concede to as Jonathan did to Buhari, you are deceiving yourself.
”If you believe that 2027 election with someone like Tinubu as the President and incumbent candidate will just be free and fair for your “saint” to contest and win with breeze then I have an airport to sell you.”
He cautioned Nigerians against underestimating the stakes in the 2027 election, warning that the consequences of their choices would be long-lasting.
Muhammad encouraged Nigerians to think about the potential impact of their decisions on their lives and the lives of their families.
He warned that Nigerians must carefully consider their options and the potential consequences of their choices in the 2027 presidential election .
