Delta Breakthrough in Cattle Ranching: First ranch emerges in Ogwashi-Uku

A significant development has taken place in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, with the emergence of the first cattle ranch in the area.
The milestone was announced
during a media chat at Ogwashi-Uku, by the Chairman of Council for Islamic affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Nwadu.
Nwadu, who highlighted the significance of the initiative, said it was in compliance with State government’sĀ directive for herders to adopt ranching as a means of ensuring peaceful coexistence with their host communities.
He emphasised the benefits of cattle ranching, including reduced conflicts between herders and farmers, and improved livestock management.
Nwadu who is also the Vice President-GeneralĀ of Supreme Council for Islamic affairs Delta State chapter urged all herders in the state to comply with the government policy and directive.
He assured them that this would help to promote peaceful coexistence with their host communities.
Nwadu lauded Alhaji Yunusa Gugu for adhering to the government directive and establishing the modern ranch, which is expected to serve as a model for other herders in the state.
Responding, Alhaji Gugu, the pioneer rancher commendedĀ Nwadu, for his efforts in promoting peace and stability in the area.
He expressed his gratitude to the state government for its support and guidance.
He also praised the Council Chairman, Jude Chukwuweike, for his support to the Muslim faithful in the area, describing him as a hospitable leader.
