Technical glitch: Zenith bank blamed for non-payment of June salaries to some federal workers

Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has attributed the non-payment of some federal civil servants’ June 2025 salaries to technical glitches.
This was disclosed by the OAGF spokesman, Bawa Mokwa, who said an investigation revealed that the issue was caused by a technical network glitch during the processing of salaries at the bank, particularly affecting workers using Zenith Bank as their salary accounts.
The OAGF stated that the salary payments for employees across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) were affected due to the technical glitch.
The OAGF appealed to all affected staff to remain calm and assured them that no effort would be spared in ensuring everyone receives their rightful salaries, as the office was open to continuous engagement with stakeholders to ensure sustained improvements in service delivery.
The OAGF assured affected employees that immediate steps have been taken to resolve the issue.
He said, ”OAGF remains fully committed to transparency, accountability, and efficiency in all payroll operations, as the office was working closely with the relevant service providers and stakeholders to resolve the matter.
“Concrete steps have already been taken to isolate the problem, and arrangements were underway to reprocess the failed payments in the shortest possible time”, he added.
Morka further said that the office prioritised the welfare of federal government employees and was committed to transparency, accountability, and efficiency in all payroll operations.
