Oborevwori Condoles Olomu Kingdom, Urhobo Nation Over Passing Of Ohworode

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed deep condolences to the people of Olomu Kingdom and the entire Urhobo nation over the passing of their revered monarch, HRM, Ovie Macaulay Popo Ovbagbedia, JP, Uhurhie-Osadjere II, the Ohworode of Olomu.
The monarch’s passing was formally announced by the Otota (traditional prime minister) of the kingdom, Olorogun Albert Akpomudje, SAN, at the royal palace in Ovwor-Olomu community, Ughelli South Local Government Area, on Saturday.
Oborevwori in a statement issued on Sunday in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, described the late traditional ruler as a symbol of peace, wisdom, and cultural pride who left an indelible mark.
The Governor commiserated with the royal family, the Olomu Traditional Council, and all sons and daughters of the kingdom, urging them to take solace in the impactful life and peaceful reign of the departed monarch, who ascended the throne on May 20, 2023.
The Governor noted that although the Ohworode’s reign was brief, it was marked by dignity, humility, and a deep commitment to the unity and progress of his people.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the monarch’s soul and the strength for the kingdom to bear the loss.
