Air Peace plane veers off runway at Port Harcourt airport, no casualties

An Air Peace aircraft operating Flight P47190 from Lagos to Port Harcourt veered off the runway after landing safely at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
Fortunately, all 127 passengers onboard disembarked safely and calmly without any injuries.
The aircraft veered slightly off the runway without sustaining any damage after landing safely at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
All passengers were evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.
Air Peace confirmed the incident in a statement signed by its Spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, assuring the public of its commitment to safety.
The airline reassured the flying public of its “unflinching commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in all our operations.”
Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at FAAN, Obiageli Orah, confirmed that there were no casualties and that evacuation of passengers was completed safely.
FAAN advised planning for potential flight delays for departing flights to Port Harcourt.
This incident comes years after a similar occurrence at the same airport in 2019.
Recently, in May, an Air Peace flight was grounded at the Asaba International Airport after colliding with an antelope while taxiing on the runway, causing flight disruptions.
