Femi Adesina defends decision to treat Buhari in London

Former presidential spokesman Femi Adesina has come to the defense of the decision to treat former President Muhammadu Buhari in London hospitals.
Adesina, who was a guest during Channels Television‘s special coverage for Buhari’s funeral on Tuesday, said those who criticised the death of Buhari in a London hospital should understand that the former president had always used London hospitals before he was elected president in May 2015.
The former presidential spokesman highlighted that the UK doctors were already familiar with Buhari’s medical history, having treated him before his presidency.
This familiarity, he argued, made it unnecessary to change doctors or seek treatment in Nigeria.
Adesina expressed concerns about the capacity of Nigerian hospitals to provide adequate care for complex medical conditions.
He said that some Nigerian hospitals lacked the necessary facilities and expertise to handle advanced medical procedures.
Adesina’s comments have sparked discussions about the state of healthcare in Nigeria and the need for improvement.
The decision to seek medical treatment abroad raises questions about the capacity of Nigerian hospitals to provide quality care for patients with complex medical conditions.
