Dignitaries gather for fidau prayer for late President Buhari

A Fidau prayer was held in Daura, Katsina State, to honour the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The prayer was attended by several top dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governors Dikko Radda of Katsina State, Babagana Zulum of Borno State, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
Other notable attendees were Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Nasir El-Rufai, former Governor of Kaduna State, Aminu Masari, former Governor of Katsina State, Buba Marwa, Director General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Emir of Daura, HRH Faruk Umar Faruk, former Army Chief of Staff, Yusuf Tukur Buratai, former Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, former Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Aliyu Isah Pantami.
The prayer which was led by Imam Yazid, featured recitation of the Holy Qur’an, prayers, and charitable acts performed on behalf of the deceased.
The gathering offered prayers to God Almighty, asking Him to grant the late former president eternal rest and admit him into Aljanna Firdausi.
They also prayed for the restoration of peace and for a reduction in food prices to levels affordable for ordinary citizens.
After the prayers, Vice President Shettima advised people to consider themselves as travelers who would all return to their various homes.
He described Buhari’s death as a loss to the nation and the entire African continent, saying the late president was not an ordinary person.
Shettima also hinted at attending another prayer for Buhari the following day.
