Sultan of Sokoto calls for unity and dialogue to promote world peace

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has emphasised the importance of unity and dialogue in promoting world peace.
The Sultan made this call during a two-day summit at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies in Oxford, England, which marked the centre’s 40th anniversary.
The Sultan urged citizens of the world, particularly in Africa, to embrace peace and dialogue to foster social harmony and peaceful coexistence.
He emphasised that Islam is a religion of peace, highlighting the need for understanding and mutual respect.
The Sultan was accompanied on the trip by his Sarkin Fada, Kabir Tafida.
The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies aims to promote interfaith dialogue, inter-civilisational understanding, Islamic finance, environmental issues, fellowships, scholarship, and the growth of Muslim youths in Britain.
The summit included an annual general meeting of the centre’s Board of Trustees and was declared open by King Charles III, the Grand Patron of OCIS.
The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including former Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Saudi Prince Turki Al Faisal, and Sultan Nazrin Shah, who are all members of the Board of Trustees alongside the Sultan of Sokoto.
