Akwa Ibom APC members urged to take part in membership revalidation

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has called on loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to participate in the ongoing membership revalidation exercise.
The governor’s appeal is aimed at ensuring that all APC members in the state validate their membership and remain part of the party’s active membership.
Governor Eno made the call shortly after validation his membership of the party at Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area on Monday.
The governor who was registered as Number 001 on the party register, urged all those who defected with him to APC to get registered at their various wards.
He said that the membership revalidation exercise was necessitated by the need to determine the true members and loyalists of the party in the state.
According to him, “We should all go back to our wards to get registered with the party. This is necessary to prove our alignment and loyalty to the party.
“The exercise will go on for a period of one month before it will be temporarily closed. The new membership register will be recognised to at the end of the exercise,” he said.
Eno used the occasion to urge Akwa Ibom people to remain committed to supporting his administration’s peace and developmental programmes.
