Delta govt celebrates Dr. Ogheneaga’s decades of public service

The Head of Service of Delta State, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, has extended her heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Ejiro Ogheneaga, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Science and Technology, as he bows out of service on August 8, 2025.
The felicitation was conveyed during a courtesy visit Dr. Ogheneaga paid to Dr. Oseji’s office, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished career.
Dr. Ogheneaga’s career spanned decades, with notable roles that have showcased his expertise and dedication to public service.
He served as the State Reproductive Health Coordinator, State Epidemiologist, and Director of Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry of Health.
He also head the position of Permanent Secretary in the Ministries of Health, Humanitarian Community Support and Girl Child Development, and Science and Technology.
Dr. Oseji praised Dr. Ogheneaga’s commitment to public service, highlighting his contributions to the state’s development.
Dr. Oseji expressed her best wishes to Dr. Ogheneaga for a fruitful and enriching life of retirement.
As the first Permanent Secretary to retire during her tenure as the Head of Service, Dr. Oseji encouraged Dr. Ogheneaga to upskill into new ventures and build upon his wealth of experience in health, development, and technology.
This gesture underscored the significance of Dr. Ogheneaga’s contributions and the impact he has had on the state’s public service.
In his remarks, Dr. Ogheneaga commended the Delta State Government for providing him with the opportunity to serve the state in various capacities.
He emphasised the importance of teamwork, saying that “teamwork is the most effective means of achieving meaningful results.”
Dr. Ogheneaga also expressed gratitude to Dr. Oseji for the positive impact she has had on his life and to all those who have contributed meaningfully to his career.
The ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including the Chairman and Secretary of the Delta State College of Permanent Secretaries, Dr. Ngozi Mogbolu and Mr. Fred Yoro, respectively.
Other attendees included Mr. Maxwell Awuse, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Service; Mr. Kingsley Olomukoro, Functioning Permanent Secretary (Directorate of Establishments and Pensions); the Director, Public Service Matters, Mr. Usenu Anthony; and the Special Assistant to the Head of Service, Mrs. Mabel Emerure.
The gathering underscored the respect and appreciation for Dr. Ogheneaga’s dedication and service to the state.
