No shutdown, says Dangote refinery

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has denied recent reports suggesting a shutdown of its operations, affirming that production and supply were proceeding without interruption.
In a statement issued by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, the refinery management categorically denied claims that truck loading activities had been halted or that its production line was inactive.
“The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is fully operational. There has been no shutdown, nor has there been any suspension of truck loading activities,” the statement read.
Addressing concerns over the intermittent sale of Residual Catalytic Oil (RCO), the refinery clarified that such transactions were part of normal business operations, particularly involving large parcel sales that might require public tender processes.
According to the company, “The facility continues to supply over 40 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) daily, alongside consistent volumes of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel.
“As the world’s largest single-train petroleum refinery, the facility employs advanced predictive and preventive maintenance protocols to ensure uninterrupted operations.
”Routine maintenance activities are standard and do not impact the overall fuel supply,” the statement added.
In reaction to speculations about possible fuel scarcity and price hikes, the refinery issued a direct challenge to those peddling the misinformation, urging them to take up large-scale orders if they truly expect a market disruption.
