Kano Governor sacks aides

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, has sacked two senior aides, Abubakar Umar Sharada and Tasiu Roba, over allegations of misconduct.
The decision followed damning findings from investigative committees probing separate cases.
Sharada, Senior Special Assistant on Political Mobilization, was dismissed for masterminding the bail of Sulaiman Danwawu, a suspected dangerous drug baron.
The committee confirmed Sharada’s culpability through his own testimony.
Roba, Senior Special Assistant in the Cabinet Office, was removed for allegedly rebagging palliative grains in 2024 at a Sharada warehouse.
Roba has been arraigned in court and he is facing charges of theft and criminal conspiracy.
Both Sharada and Roba have been directed to return all government property in their possession by Monday, August 11, 2025 as well as desist from parading themselves as public officials.
Meanwhile, Musa Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainages, was cleared of all allegations by an investigative committee.
Governor Yusuf emphasised his administration’s commitment to discipline, transparency, and zero tolerance for corruption.
“Our commitment to discipline, transparency, and zero tolerance for corruption is unwavering.
”Public officials must uphold the highest standards of integrity both in their official duties and private lives,” he said.
The Secretary to the State Government cautioned members of the public against engaging with the sacked aides on any matter concerning the state government, saying that “whoever engages them on government issues does so at his or her own risk. ”
