Manchester United confirm Benjamin Sesko signing in £73.7m deal

Manchester United has confirmed the signing of Slovenian international, Benjamin Sesko, from RB Leipzig, marking the third forward acquisition for the Red Devils in the ongoing close season.
The 22-year-old’s arrival from RB Leipzig on a five-year contract completed an overhaul of the Red Devils’ attack.
“Manchester United is pleased to confirm that Benjamin Sesko has joined the club, subject to registration,” the club statement said.
Sesko’s impressive stats at RB Leipzig include 39 goals in 87 appearances, making him the top scorer under the age of 23 in Europe’s top five leagues during that period.
He is known for his physical presence, speed, and clinical finishing ability, earning comparisons to Erling Haaland ¹.
The transfer fee for Sesko’s signing is reportedly £73.7 million, including £66.3 million upfront and £7.4 million in performance-related add-ons.
Manchester United outbid Newcastle United, despite the Magpies offering a higher deal, as Sesko preferred to join the Red Devils due to their long-term vision and project.
Sesko expressed his excitement about joining Manchester United, saying, “the history of Manchester United is obviously very special, but what really excites me is the future.”
He also praised the club’s positive energy and family environment, highlighting his eagerness to work with manager Ruben Amorim and bond with his new teammates.
Sesko’s arrival completed an overhaul of Manchester United’s attack, following the signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
His addition is expected to provide a clinical touch to the team’s offense, and his aerial threat and powerful shot make him a valuable asset.
