PSG beat Tottenham on penalties to win UEFA super cup

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has won the UEFA Super Cup for the first time in their history, defeating Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 in a penalty shootout after the match ended 2-2 in regular time.
The French giants staged a dramatic comeback, with Lee Kang-in scoring in the 85th minute and Goncalo Ramos equalizing in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
Micky van de Ven gave Tottenham the lead in the 39th minute, and Cristian Romero doubled the advantage three minutes after the restart.
Lee Kang-in pulled a goal back for PSG in the 85th minute, and Goncalo Ramos headed in the equalizer four minutes into injury time, forcing the game into penalties.
PSG won the penalty shootout 4-3, with Nuno Mendes converting the decisive kick.
Vitinha missed PSG’s first penalty, but Lucas Chevalier saved Van de Ven’s effort, and Mathys Tel missed the target, allowing Mendes to seal the win.
This victory marks a perfect start to the new campaign for Luis Enrique’s team, who had a shortened off-season break after losing the FIFA Club World Cup final to Chelsea.
PSG’s win marks their first UEFA Super Cup title, adding to their five trophies won in 2025, including the Champions League title, which they secured in May with a 5-0 victory over Inter Milan.
